The Climb

Maybe you’re on the top of a cliff resting from the climb, you promised you’d never look down, but for a second there, the corner of your eye catches a glimpse of the scene beneath your feet. It’s less frightening than what you imagined. Before you get the chance to look at it again, a strong breeze drags you in another direction. You stare at the scene until your eyes blur. It’s an eccentric view of the sky meshed in colors; there is so much you’ve never noticed it before.

You’ve never noticed your own heartbeat or followed your own pace. You’ve never listened to the words you tell yourself, how judgmental and cruel they are most of the time. A part of you remembers what it was like to begin that first scary climb and you remember the scars from the times you slipped. But this wasn’t going to be one of those times. So you take a deep inhale and realize despite everything you remained. Even during times, you thought a chunk of your soul was stolen, you’re still there. You hear a faint whisper reminding you of your existence. Still overcoming and still fighting your way through. You can hear your heartbeat gradually turn into words, “Climb…climb!”

Without hesitation this time you take the first step up another mountain.

This post hits me to the core, Twinny. That journey to self love and facing all that holds us back in life is such a scary one, but exciting at the same time. The more we climb up, the more confident we become and the less intimidated we become by the height. You described that feeling beautifully, sis. Really awesome and inspiring post! 💗💗

  2. It was truly inspiring. All of us are climbing that mountain one step at a time. Some reach the top earlier, while some take few more moments. But the main aim is to never stop.
