After my writing got rejected few times I wanted to quit because I felt that I was going around in circles.
BUT there is always something inspirational about this journey & small lessons that make it all worth it. I never noticed until yesterday that after each failure a new short story was born.
I’ve written 6 short stories in one year. I love that they’re all different and how they encouraged me to expand my P.O.V’s.
The greatest lesson from all of this is to keep trying and taking chances.
Can’t wait to figure out what story number 7 will be about.
I’ll try to enjoy this journey a little more. One tiny step at a time.

    1. Yes, it does ♥ It’s not about the goal …it’s about the journey. Still learning that 😀

I’m so proud of you, Z. I remember how nervous you were submitting those stories and then out of nowhere, you were inspired to do another one. You never let the rejection keep you down and you never considered it a failure either. You just let it push you to get better and better and go outside of your element. Your tenacity inspires me, sis. Keep moving forward in your writing journey. You have a gift. ☺️

    1. Aaah you made me cry😭
I’ve wanted to submit short stories since 2008. I remember talking about it with my friends at the school I taught. I was obsessed! Had the submission papers in my hand for months and never had the courage to submit.

I submitted that story to an online contest in 2014 and I never tried again. But the passion for it was buried…Each time someone asked me for help in their writing I had a feeling I could take it tons of steps deeper.

I made a promise to myself three years ago while my grandfather was ill to keep going.
I can’t get this far and just quit🙌🙌🙌 Teeny tiny steps is the way to go. I fail I nag a bit 🤣🤪🤪🤪take a break and try something new.💖

Yes! It’s definitely a journey. We writers need to have thick skin hey. It’s tough!
