I’ve heard a lot of people describe others as sensitive,
As if it’s a weakness.
However, I’ve witnessed people harden from struggles.
Toughen up and pretend that they’re strong,
And that everything is okay,
When their hearts are sinking.
They grow that thick skin ,
Until they can’t even see when others are struggling.
That’s even worse than listening to what your soul needs to say.
Because once heartache seeps into your life,
It humbles you,
And you start paying attention to all the magical details.

I needed this so much. I relate so much with the opening.
I’m a sensitive person and I admit I cry here and there. I never want to pretend and hide of who I am or how emotional person I am. Sadly, in such a world that we live in…men around me think they’re tough and don’t show emotions. They are miserable and struggle within their right.
Loved this so much. π

Oh…I imagine it’s harder for men because of the stereotypes.
At the end of the day all that matters is that we are able to sit comfortably with ourselves in the silence and embrace whatever comes our way. Life is too short to worry about our surroundings…Just feel and process everything.
So happy you loved it. π

Very much.
Yes, lots of stereotypes within men. That’s why I prefer to be alone than hang out with men. Poets are much more interesting.

Wow! That’s such a wonderful piece. I agree with what you say. People just blurt out judgements about other people, calling them weak and sensitive. But no one can understand the crippling aftermath of a heartache, until they go through one.
Great work! Thanks for sharing!π
