Power Of Empathy

In the past few months, my family and I have gone through life changing events. We’ve lost family members. We’ve been scared for others. We’ve been to funerals and hospitals. Sometimes on the same day. We’re still grieving and adjusting because these events all close together changes a person. But we have a choice in the direction we take with this change.

I know my heart has somehow changed mostly because of the people surrounding me. People who have stood strong around me when I felt I was at my weakest. My heart has grown and expanded. It has learned the power of true love and sacrifice. It has taught me the importance of empathy and the importance of listening to others when they need it. Love doesn’t count the number of times you’ve helped a friend and it doesn’t wait for a favor to be returned.
I’ve learned that each person we meet comes into our lives to teach us a lesson.

So please next time someone reaches out to you for help and understanding don’t be so quick to judge. We all go through things differently and it hits us at different times. If someone opens up to you, and you can just see through his/her vulnerability don’t make fun of it. Emotions are temporary, but the way you react to someone venting will stay with them forever. Being there for someone doesn’t take away your value, it doesn’t take away your experiences. And it definitely doesn’t mean you’re taken advantage of.

During these difficult circumstances the world is going through let’s learn more about patience. Let’s learn to reach out without expecting anything in return. Let’s learn to listen to the silent people without being judgmental.

Hope this post serves as a reminder for you to open your heart and be there for your loved ones without restrictions. Let’s remember to breathe and try again if we fail with someone.
At the end of the day, “A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.”
Let’s try to do better because we can never know the difference we make in someone’s life.

Stay safe everyoneโ™ฅ

    1. Are you on official lock down? I sure hope so. I closed my business few days before it was announced because I was following the news in Italy.
Hope you’re all safe. Will listen to the song while I’m writing. Thank you and take care.

      1. Yeah, we’ve been on an official stay at home/social distancing for 1 week and 2 days and going forward. It’s getting scary but we all need to be positive and strong and the world can fight this virus.

We are all safe here at home. Hope you are safe as well?

      2. Day 19 here. Going a little crazy (making funny videos) but I’m grateful that we’re all safe. The only place we’re going to is my aunt’s house because she’s old and needs some care. She lives nearby ๐Ÿ˜€
Hope you’re getting used to it. Stay safe and disinfect everything that you get from the store xoxox
