“I’m walking into the void her absence has left. I keep hitting it and it takes me a while to realize that I’m surrounded with it. The more I wished it wasn’t there, the more it taunted me.”New short story “Forever Hope” by Zeina Abi Ghosn
This is a short excerpt from a new short story I’ve been working on. So far it’s called “Forever Hope”
It’s probably the longest time a short story has ever taken me to finish, because I tackled a really hard subject for me.
I started it with my character sitting in a funeral home and observing her surroundings. I really struggled to show her emotions of anger and numbness. It’s almost done, but I still have the plot to finish which I’m hoping would keep up with her emotional transformation from anger to acceptance.
I’m slowly getting used to writing situations that terrify me and I hope I can correctly portray this character’s beautiful journey.
Hope everyone likes it and my question for all of you is:
Have you ever written stories and situations that terrify you? How did you get through?
Would love to know in the comments below.
